Does Nirvana provide and capacity management?

Nirvana will utilize memory and storage space management during its execution.

Nirvana’s memory management features include DMC (Dynamic Memory Configuration). The Nirvana server uses DMC to examine the amount of Java heap available. Three memory modes are used that enable Nirvana to run on anything from small embedded devices through to J2EE based servers. DMC ensures that no one aspect of the message servers operation consumes all available resources.

Nirvana’s persistent stores can have maintenance performed on them during execution within a production environment. The maintenance ensures that any space that can be reclaimed will be. A scheduler is made available to handle the process automatically. In addition the process can also be called at any time by a Nirvana administrator.
